Sainik School, RMS & RIMC Coaching in Gangtok
Here is something most people do not know about Gangtok.
This city is the capital of India's youngest state - and it has the world's third-highest mountain as its backdrop.
Kanchenjunga. 8,586 metres. The world's third-highest peak. Visible on clear mornings from Gangtok with extraordinary clarity - an enormous white wall of mountain rising above the clouds. Not a distant smudge. A close, overwhelming presence dominating the western horizon.
And Sikkim itself is India's youngest state - merged with India only in 1975, after a referendum. Before 1975, Sikkim was an independent kingdom under the Chogyal - the Buddhist king. The merger was a specific, contested, and diplomatically significant event in India's history.
And Gangtok has the Rumtek Monastery - one of the most important Karma Kagyu Buddhist monasteries outside Tibet. After the Chinese occupation of Tibet in 1959, many Tibetan Buddhist masters fled to Sikkim and India. The Rumtek Monastery became the seat of the Karmapa - one of Tibetan Buddhism's most important lineages. Rumtek holds ancient thangkas, sacred texts, and ritual objects of extraordinary religious significance.
And the Teesta river - which we saw in Jalpaiguri further downstream - originates from glacial lakes in Sikkim and flows through the state before entering West Bengal. The Teesta here, in its upper reaches, is a clear, cold, fast-moving mountain river.
And Sikkim has India's only UNESCO-listed biosphere reserve on a mountain peak - the Khangchendzonga National Park, which covers the Kanchenjunga massif.
Kanchenjunga third highest. Sikkim youngest state 1975 merger. Rumtek Monastery Karmapa seat. Teesta origins. Khangchendzonga National Park UNESCO biosphere.
That is why we run Sainik School Coaching in Gangtok. Also RMS Coaching in Gangtok and RIMC Coaching in Gangtok. The capital with the world's third-highest mountain as its backdrop - its children should be reaching for their own highest peaks through officer commission. We train them for that.

Kanchenjunga is visible from Gangtok. Not abstract. Present. Every clear morning - there it is. 8,586 metres. The world's third-highest peak. Seen from your city. Children who grow up with Kanchenjunga on the horizon grow up knowing what a real summit looks like. Your child's AISSEE is not 8,586 metres. It is three hours, one paper, one day. Kanchenjunga is harder than the AISSEE. Children who see Kanchenjunga every morning know what is genuinely difficult. The AISSEE, by comparison, is climbable. Two years of preparation. The mountain is visible. Climb toward it.
