Sainik School, RMS & RIMC Coaching in Barasat
Here is something most people do not know about Barasat.
This city was the site of one of the first armed uprisings against British rule in India - nearly 80 years before the 1857 revolt.
The Barasat Uprising of 1831. Led by Titu Mir - Mir Nityanand Mirza Ali. A Muslim reformer-turned-revolutionary who rallied peasants in the Barasat-Baranagar belt of North 24 Parganas against both the indigo planters and the British zemindars who were exploiting them. Titu Mir built a bamboo fort at Narkelberia village near Barasat as a symbolic act of resistance.
The British destroyed the bamboo fort. Titu Mir died in the conflict. But the Barasat Uprising of 1831 is recognised by historians as one of the earliest organised armed resistance movements against British colonial rule - preceding 1857 by 26 years.
A bamboo fort. Against the empire. In Barasat.
And Barasat is the district headquarters of North 24 Parganas - the most populous district in India. Over 10 million people in one district. More than the population of many countries.
And Barasat is effectively part of the Kolkata metropolitan area - about 22-25 km north of Kolkata city centre. Kolkata's suburban expansion has absorbed much of the area between Kolkata and Barasat. The educational, cultural, and commercial resources of Kolkata are immediately accessible.
And the 1971 war - the Liberation War of Bangladesh - saw significant refugee movement through North 24 Parganas, including the Barasat belt. The Barasat area has specific memories of that war and its human consequences.
Titu Mir's bamboo fort 1831 - first armed uprising. India's most populous district headquarters. Kolkata metropolitan 22 km. Bangladesh border district.
That is why we run Sainik School Coaching in Barasat. Also RMS Coaching in Barasat and RIMC Coaching in Barasat. The city where the first bamboo fort was raised against empire - its children should be the officers who ensure no such empire rises again. We train them for commission.

Titu Mir built a bamboo fort. Not stone. Not steel. Bamboo - what was immediately available, what the peasants could build with their own hands, in their own land, from their own resources. The resistance was built from what they had. Not waiting for better materials. Not waiting for more favourable conditions. Building with what was available - now. Your child's preparation is the same bamboo fort. Don't wait for a better time. Don't wait for more resources. Build with what is available - today's study session, today's practice, today's textbooks. Start building from what you have, now.
Strict. No exceptions.
