In summer, they take their herds of cattle and buffaloes up to the high mountain pastures, sometimes reaching 3,000 metres or more. In winter, they bring the herds back down to the lower valleys. Their knowledge of the Pir Panjal's passes, trails, and terrain is extraordinary - built from centuries of this seasonal movement.

And Gujjari - the language of the Gujjar community - is one of J&K's recognised regional languages, with its own oral literary tradition of folk songs and poetry.

Class 4 is the low-valley base - foundation work, no pressure, steady building. As preparation advances, the climb begins - harder problems, timed sessions, mock tests under pressure. By January - at the high summer pasture, fully adapted, ready for the most demanding conditions. Don't resist the climb. Move with it.

Strict. No exceptions.

The Gujjars move in specific seasonal windows. Leave for the high pasture too early - snow still blocks the passes. Leave too late - the summer grazing season is lost. These exam windows are the same. Age 10-12 for Class 6. Move in the right window.
