Sainik School, RMS & RIMC Coaching in Poonch
Here is something most people do not know about Poonch.
This district fought one of the most extraordinary defensive sieges in the history of Indian independence - held by civilians and ex-servicemen with almost no outside support for over a year.
The Poonch Siege of 1947-48. When Pakistani tribal militia invaded J&K in October 1947, the situation in Poonch was unusual. The predominantly Muslim population here was, unlike in much of the invaded territory, largely pro-India. The reason - Poonch had provided tens of thousands of soldiers to the British Indian Army in World War II. The district had the highest per-capita recruitment of any region in undivided India for the war. These veterans - Poonchis who had fought in Burma, North Africa, Italy - came home in 1945 with military training, weapons knowledge, and unit cohesion.
When the Pakistani tribal militia arrived, these veterans organised. They armed themselves with whatever they could find. They held the town of Poonch through a siege that lasted from November 1947 to November 1948. Over a year. Surrounded. With limited ammunition, limited food, limited medicine. The Indian Air Force airdropped supplies. The siege was finally broken when Indian Army columns fought through the mountains from Jammu.
Military historians study the Poonch siege as one of the most remarkable examples of organised civilian resistance in the subcontinent's modern history.
And Poonch district is almost entirely surrounded by Pakistan-controlled territory. A narrow mountain corridor connects it to the rest of India. The Mughal Road - the ancient route used by Mughal emperors traveling between Jammu and the Kashmir valley through the Pir Panjal - passes through this region.
1947-48 Poonch Siege. World War II veterans' defence. Mughal Road ancient route. Poonch Princely State. Surrounded by Pakistan-administered territory.
That is why we run Sainik School Coaching in Poonch. Also RMS Coaching in Poonch and RIMC Coaching in Poonch. The district whose ex-servicemen held a siege for a year with almost nothing - its children carry that same refusal to surrender into officer commission preparation. We train them for that.

The Poonch ex-servicemen held the siege for over a year with limited supplies. Not enough of anything - not enough ammunition, not enough food, not enough outside support. But they held. Because they used what they had completely. Every round counted. Nothing wasted. Your child's preparation in Poonch may also feel like it doesn't have enough - not enough nearby coaching, not enough resources, not enough time. Use what you have completely. Every study session. Every mock test. Every available page. The Poonch standard: hold with what you have. Use everything completely. The siege was held that way. The selection can be earned the same way.
Strict. No exceptions.
