Sainik School, RMS & RIMC Coaching in Jowai
Here is something most people do not know about Jowai.
This city is the capital of Meghalaya's Jaintia Hills - a district with one of India's largest coal reserves and one of its most spectacular geological landscapes.
Jowai is the headquarters of West Jaintia Hills district. The Jaintia people - also called the Pnar - are the third of Meghalaya's three major tribal communities alongside the Khasi and Garo. The Jaintia Kingdom was one of the significant medieval kingdoms of this region, with a distinct court culture, specific festivals, and a matrilineal social structure like the Khasi.
And the Jaintia Hills are underlaid with significant coal deposits - specifically high-quality coal of the sub-bituminous type. The East and West Jaintia Hills districts have had extensive coal mining, largely through the "rat-hole mining" method unique to this region - small tunnels dug into hillsides following coal seams. The Supreme Court banned rat-hole mining in 2014 due to severe environmental damage. The coal economy, while now contested, shaped the Jaintia Hills' economy for decades.
And the Jaintia Hills have extraordinary limestone caves - Krem Liat Prah, which at over 31 km is the longest natural cave in India and among the longest in Asia. The cave system extends through the karst limestone of the Jaintia Hills in ways that have not been fully mapped. Underground rivers, cathedral-sized chambers, formations of extraordinary geological beauty.
And Nartiang - near Jowai - has the largest collection of monoliths in the world. Tall stone columns and flat table stones erected by the Pnar community over centuries for ritual and memorial purposes. More monoliths in one place than anywhere else on Earth.
Jaintia Hills coal deposits. Krem Liat Prah India's longest cave. Nartiang monoliths largest collection world. Jaintia Kingdom medieval heritage.
That is why we run Sainik School Coaching in Jowai. Also RMS Coaching in Jowai and RIMC Coaching in Jowai. The capital of the hills with the world's largest monolith collection and India's longest cave - its children should be establishing their own kind of monument through officer commission. Krem Liat Prah - 31 km long. The longest cave in India. And much of it is unmapped. Cavers have explored it for decades and it still reveals new sections, new chambers, new passages. You don't know everything that's in it until you go further. Your child's potential is the same cave system. Your child, at Class 4, is the cave entrance - some parts explored, mostly unmapped. Two years of preparation are the caving expedition. Each session reveals new capability, new strength, new understanding. The full extent of the potential is only found by going further. You cannot know how far the cave goes until you explore it. You cannot know the officer potential until the preparation goes deep enough to find it.
Strict. No exceptions.
