After INA: Commissioned as Sub-Lieutenant in the Indian Navy.

Route 2: B.Tech Entry (via JEE)

After Class 12 with PCM. Eligible for B.Tech at INA Ezhimala through a specific naval entry for engineering. This route produces technical officers with engineering qualifications alongside naval commission.

Route 3: 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme

Class 12 pass with PCM. Direct entry to INA Ezhimala without going through NDA. Written exam, SSB, medical. 4-year B.Tech programme at INA leading to commissioning as Sub-Lieutenant.

Route 4: University Entry Scheme (UES)

Naval Aviation — The Specific Pathway Many Students Want

Naval aviation officers are commissioned through NDA (Naval Wing) or other executive branch entries. After initial commissioning, eligible officers may apply for flying training.

NDA written exam: The GAT section includes Science (Physics particularly relevant for naval technical concepts), which Sainik School's CBSE curriculum covers directly.

The Vision Standards Question — Most Asked by Naval Aspirants

Vision standards are among the most common questions from students targeting Navy.

For Executive Branch (General Service):

Uncorrected (without glasses): 6/12 minimum in each eye. Correctable to 6/6.

Class 9-10 (Kazhakootam currently):

The interview panel for Navy candidates at SSB will probe naval-specific motivation more specifically than general military aspiration.
